Just to let you know.... It's a Bank Holiday weekend over here in Britland so I've been very busy with the family. My sons lost their Grandfather earlier this week and are over to attend his funeral tomorrow. As you can imagine, the place is pretty sombre.
We have Jess over from tomorrow for the week and Jay has planned lots of activities for us. Hopefully, I'll get some good photos and maybe a movie clip or two as well.
I am also very busy trying to learn my cs3 and am hoping to create some scrapbook freebies for all my Blog friends by the weekend.
Meanwhile, I havn't forgotten you all and will update BooLand with some Elly clips and photos soon.
Until then, hang tight. Thanks for your understanding. Have a good one. Hugs Boo xx
Every night, Jay calls Jess (his daughter) to say Goodnight and it's become something of a tradition between them for him to read to her just as he always did, continuity, they say, is good for kids and I agree. Anyway, even though Jess is now 12 she still looks forward to her bedtime story just as Jay looks forward to reading it to her, it's their special time together.
The other night when Daddy (Nando) called Elly, I popped my head round her bedroom door to see how things were going only to find her reading a bedtime story to him. It was so funny to watch and so sweet too. She read with such intensity, pointing to the pictures as if Daddy could see them. So, I thought Daddy and her Grandparents might like to see her read some more......
She is reading a book about Vanessa Mae, the trendy cool violinist, at school and since we have a lot of violin and piano music around the house these days (both Jay and Jess play) I thought it quite appropraite. Not forgetting that Daddy plays the drums and big brother Mikey plays the guitar, we are quite the musical family.... lol.
So, after yesterdays blast with the vocals, here's part one of Elly's musical story. For Grandma and Grandad, I'll try and get a written version so you can translate and know what she's saying when I post part two.....
That's all for now folks. I may pop back later to post some more but otherwise, have a good one, oh, and before I forget, Nando, what do you mean, 'You're stuck' you daft thing? Post a message and explain lol....
Oh yes indeed...... Little Miss RockStar decided to give me an impromptu 'concert' yesterday afternoon and I have to say, it was fantastic. This child is normally pretty camera shy so when she asked if I could film her 'concert', naturally, I jumped at the chance.
Please accept my apologies for the shaking camera and raukous laughter in the background. I'm afraid I couldn't help myself, the tears were literally 'streaming' down my face....
Anyway, here ya go, have fun.... Oh, and before I forget, Elly actually wrote these songs herself, hows that for a future star in the making?!
Now, come on guys, was that not the best little concert you've seen in a long time? I am still laughing uncontrollably, especially when she gets to the bit 'oh oh, nothings gonna work with me....' I wonder where she picked that little line up from???
Anyway, on with the rest of today and first up, lets get it out of the way....
I'm gutted
How could this happen? I felt both teams looked totally shattered but I have to say that Liverpool goal was a beauty. Anyway, if you must read more about it, here's the link, I can't bear to put it on my blog.... http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601102&sid=a0pOzN49.HnQ&refer=uk
Now then. Yesterday I talked about travel and places of interest and I even set up a challenge to find the most interesting places.
Since its my blog (I am Queen of BooLand and my word IS Law) I'll go first and here is my contribution.
It's a place called Petra and I think its one of the most fascinating places ever. check out the movie clips (there are two of them, do watch both, they are quite different and both are really good) and let me have your thoughts on it. Would you go there?
Well folks, thats about all from BooLand today. Be sure to check back tomorrow for more 'Daily Doses' of Elly and whatever else might be going on. See you then, you have a good one now.
How cool is that guy of mine. He went hunting for me and found this link for learning html bless him.
Here it is for those of you who, like me, are getting frustrated with not being able to do what you want like 'yesterday', oh, and yes I mis-spelled html earlier, well it is Wopper Wednesday...
After hours, yes, HOURS, of trying to learn the lingo of htlm, codes and the like and having failed miserably I have decided that in BOOLAND, Wednesdays shall hence forth be known as
Da dada Da DERRRRRRRRRRRR............
Wait for it............
Wopper Wednesday
In honour of My Jay, who knows I am a wopper and still puts up with me, and for all you good folk out there who have somehow 'happened' upon this strange land of mine, all Wednesdays from now on shall contain, amoungst other things, something funny, very funny, as funny as I can find, and sometimes, there might be more then one of these 'funnies'.
Here's the first for WOPPER WEDNESDAY
Now that you all have your Wopper Wednesday smiles on..... on with the rest of what I have for you today.
As I mentioned earlier, I'm still trying to come to terms with this 'blog' lingo. I had hoped to add a nice coloured background and change the layout of my blog template from a 2 column to a 3 coloumn (it just fits on the page better I think). Anyway, at the moment I haven't quite got the coding right, though I did manage to turn all the text a very pretty pink??? So, for now, you will all have to bear with me while I tweak away until I get it right and feel happy with it.
Still, it's not bad for someone who's a complete pc illiterate is it?!
Along my travels through cyber space on my quest to find new and interesting things for you all to look at I did manage to find some goodies, the first of which I have posted above. I plan to include lots of funnies like that but I also wanted to bring some culture to my little world.
I've always wanted to travel to far off distant places filled with ancient wonder and mystery so...... another of my little plans is to include once a week something of interest to do with travel and history and in fact, anything that I think may be of interest that fits this little space. I hope you'll all enjoy them as much as I do.
That reminds me, Nando (Elly's Dad) and I once had a competition to see who could get to the most places on our 'Places to visit' wish list first. These days I think we've both realised thats not gonna happen any time soon so, here's a new challenge, for Nando and indeed anyone wishing to join in....
Send me a link to a video or web page of a really interesting place you'd like to visit and especially photos of trips you may have made to such places and I will showcase them here on my blog.
Hey, what are you waiting for guys, how easy could this be, get surfing and get posting...... Virtual Travel, its the way of Tomorrow.... lol
Finally, the bit I know most of you are waiting for, our little daily dose of Elly. Todays clip was taken on Monday afternoon after school. One of those rare days when it was warm enough for shorts. I couldn't resist catching Elly engrossed in her 'creation'. Apparently, she was making something for me, a sculpture??? Anyway, it is now 'sculptured all over the grass. I'm not sure if its finished, you can never tell with these artists can you.
Todays movie comes courtesy of Elly, naturally. Football has ruled our house since the year dot so when Elly finally came along, I really thought I'd have an ally in the fight against the dreaded sport......... hmmmmmmmmmm
'fraid not, this kid is all about footy, Liverpool and England and once in a while Portugal get a look in, but not today folks.....
Just a littl fun. Each week I'll be hunting and posting some comic, cute or just plain old curious movie clips for you all to enjoy. Here's the first of them chosen because my lovely guy Jay is a music Teacher. This little critter might make a good student but can she pay to fee's.....?
Those of you that saw this over there, apologise for repeating myself but.... come on.... these film clips are worth a second viewing anyway..... right?!
For those who havn't yet seen these, sit back and enjoy my sisters Margi, Tracey and April kindly providing the 'entertainment' for my birthday lunch earlier this month. Oh, and just incase anyone wants to know, perhaps keep a note of this for future refrence and maybe even send me a nice little e card, I'd be ever so appreciative....... (its May 8th)
Margi
April
Tracey
and once more, sorry there is no sound to this, mum forgot to put the mic on but its soooooooo worth watching.....
Come on, own up...... How many of us have sung our little hearts out in the shower knowing that if only someone could hear us, we'd be 'discovered' and have the stardom life we 'know' we deserve......
My first task will be to upload all the stuff from 'MySpace' for you all to enjoy but for now, I just wanted to let you guys know that BooLandBlog is up and running and open for business.
